Over 1,200 HBs hit 6 A/Fs, 5 M/Ys, 2 explosives plants, 2 oil storage depots, and an ordnance depot in C and N Germany. 15 ftr gps, providing spt, meet well over 100 conventional ftrs and 50-plus jets. The German ftrs attack fiercely and in the ensuing air battle down 15 HBs. US ftrs claim over 60 ftrs destroyed including a few jets against negligible losses. HBs claim 40 of the ftrs destroyed.
